Mark is a successful entrepreneur possessing the strong combination of people skills, creative thinking, pragmatism and persistence needed to transform technology and invention into viable business solutions. He has over thirty years of sales, marketing and operations management experience in various industries with specific expertise in the Information Technology and Telecommunications Industries. At Beep, Mark owns the Sales and go-to-market motion, customer relations and Partner channels.
Prior to Beep, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of Zilarah Technologies, an IT and Telecommunications solution provider known for its deep expertise in the design, creation and implementation of mobile wallet software and hardware configurations on secured networks.
Before that, he was co-founder and CEO of Jamaica Network Access Point Limited, a telecommunications collocation facility-- the first of its kind in the Caribbean. His company developed the interconnection of all tier one carriers in Jamaica via fiber networks and cross-connected all major wireless networks into one central facility. Mark drove the business cycle of the company through all its critical phases including planning, permitting, construction and operations and successfully deployed Stages I through III of the business model, namely the hub interconnection, intra-island, and inter-Caribbean deployment phases.
Mark was also the founder and CEO of Haltek Global Corporation, a telecommunications firm in Florida, focused on the delivery of Voice over IP (VoIP) based solutions to a broad base of customers. The company established a resilient network infrastructure to facilitate voice and data traffic traversing the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean and developed a niche market position for Haltek within the international long-distance space utilizing innovative broadband technologies and IP based disaster recovery/data storage solutions.
Prior to Haltek Global, Mark was with Chang International Enterprises, Inc., (DBA Car World), a specialty automotive retailer, as their Operations Manager and quickly moved up to become the General Manager of their South Florida operations. Mark reorganized the company and restructured the sales practices to delivered a two-fold increase in company sales within a ten-month period and, within two years, the company had quadrupled in sales to become one of the top performers in that space.
Throughout his career, Mark has been focused on and stays actively involved with start-ups and guiding new businesses through their growth stages to successful outcomes including a family owned business that became Jamaica’s largest single grower of two of the world’s leading coffee brands-- High Mountain and Blue Mountain coffee.
Mark graduated from Barry University in Miami, Florida with an MBA.
