General Summary:

Fleet Managers will be Beep’s Shuttle Operations logistics specialists. As a key member of the Customer Success team, you will be responsible for rapidly maturing an organization in number and in structure whose primary responsibility is the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of Beep’s autonomous vehicle managed services, the measure of which is constantly evolving. As a fleet manager for one or multiple sites, you will be responsible the culture, operational procedures and processes, strategy, interdepartmental relationships, and administrative affairs (e.g. compensation, leveling, contractor relations, and other people matters). You will be responsible for the analysis, understanding, and presentation of the logistical, operational, and financial parameters of vehicle and personnel resources to the executive leadership team, to lateral organizations, and to the shuttle operations team itself. You will be held accountable to the team’s performance in the criteria of revenue delivery and adherence to metrics for service availability. You will serve as a senior representative of the shuttle operations team and work closely with the platform technology team. You will define, drive, and support shuttle operations teams in their efforts to achieve defined goals, milestones, and objectives. You will plan and execute time-sensitive key strategic and tactical decisions and support the Customer Success leader by framing decisions and their consequences and ensuring that information is complete and clearly communicated. Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring that the actions and results of Shuttle Operations at Beep for today and tomorrow are executed on time and within budget.


Essential Responsibilities:

Demand Planning, Procurement and Operations Readiness

  • Develop passenger demand models

  • Develop and optimize shuttle operating schedules based on customer goals and expectations

  • Plan shuttle procurement based on anticipated rider and schedule demands, including lease versus buy decisions to optimize profitability

  • Coordinate and oversee shuttle shipping, including decisions on air versus ocean freight

  • Register and license all shuttles in the fleet

  • Coordinate the procurement and installation of after-market features and accessories to optimize passenger safety and experience

Operations Management

  • Evaluate and hire safety attendants and shift managers

  • Develop attendant staffing models and schedules

  • Manage shift supervisors to provide best in class customer service to both internal and external customers.

  • Plan and manage ground support requirements for events and customer demos.

  • Schedule and manage remote shuttle demonstrations.

  • Develop and ensure adherence to a planned maintenance schedule in compliance with shuttle manufacturer requirements

  • Develop a maintenance SLA and ensure planned maintenance activities comply with planned timelines to minimize unplanned downtime

  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle inspection, maintenance and repairs.

  • Partner with Beep Command Center to troubleshoot mechanical issues contributing to operational instability

  • Coordinate with the Beep Command Center to issue customer communications for planned and unplanned maintenance activities

Compliance and Reporting

  • Comply with U.S. Department of Transportation laws and regulations

  • Assist with documentation and reporting related to fleet readiness and operations, including preparation of operations dashboard

  • Contribute to vehicle performance and safety enhancement product development roadmap by tracking and communicating issues encountered in the field


Essential Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in Business, Technical Operations or related degree; Bachelors degree preferred

  • 3+ years’ experience as a people leader in a fast adapting environment

  • 5+ years experience working in the automotive or trucking industry including asset acquisition experience; autonomous fleet experience preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of fleet management legislation and best practices

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Demonstrated operations management skills, including working with contingent workforce

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience meeting with customers and providing feedback

  • Experience managing a process in an operations environment

  • Ability to work with Engineers, Operations and Executives

  • Strict attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts

  • Unafraid to roll up their sleeves to help get the job done

  • Level headed leader who leads by example, understands the situation, accesses the best course of action and then executes on that action

  • Thorough knowledge of the federal, state and local regulations relating to the autonomous / fleet industry.

  • Minimum 5 years valid driver’s license, with current FL driver’s license.

  • Must have a clear driving record.

  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks.

  • CAFM is advantageous or equivalent certification in the industry preferred.
