Safety Analyst (Atlanta, Georgia / Orlando, Florida)

The Safety Analyst reports to the VP, Customer Success and serves as the subject matter expert and compliance officer for the Beep Safety Plan.


The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure Beep’s operational safety policies and procedures as laid out in the Beep Safety Plan have been distributed and implemented across the organization; to implement an auditing and analysis framework; and to serve as the auditor to ensure these policies and procedures are complied with.


This position requires cross-functional collaboration with the c-suite and operational leadership and is ultimately responsible for safety compliance, evaluating all safety metrics, leading indicators, trends, and issues and documenting risk mitigation determinations.


An ideal candidate has Autonomous Vehicle or transit experience and will own the outcome of all safety policies and decisions made to enact the Safety Plan.


While travel is required, this position is based at Beep Command Center in Lake Nona, Florida


Essential Job Functions:

  • Continuously review, enhance and improve the Safety Plan

  • Schedule and participate In Safety Council Meetings; prepare and publish meeting notes; track open actions to closure

  • Support VP Field QA and staff to track reported operational safety issues to closure

  • Collaborate with Director Platform Technology to understand technical issues impacting safety; track and report technical safety issues to closure in alignment with Platform Technology

  • Liaison with Beep CTO and/or Beep AV suppliers to secure and enhance supplier safety training materials in accordance with Beep Safety Plan

  • Continuously enhance and improve safety training materials

  • Supported by site leadership, develop site specific operating procedures in accordance with Beep Safety Plan

  • Continuously enhance and improve site specific standard operating procedures

  • Review maintenance SOPs and facilities for compliance with Beep Safety Plan; document risks, develop risk mitigations, and track to closure

  • Evaluate and plan for safety training requirements for all upcoming deployments, in partnership with PMO and Field QA

  • Manage continuing training plan / cadence for safety attendants

  • Manage / enhance safety scorecards and process for executive and “secret rider” ride-along initiative

  • Prepare and review NHTSA compliance reports

  • Analyze attendant and shuttle field data; prepare and analyze trend reports; manage recurring issues to closure


Required Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years in a senior level transportation or public transit safety role

  • TSSP, PTSCTP, or equivalent transportation safety professional certification

  • Experience leading or participating in the audit process

  • Proven ability to identify and quantify risks and prioritize mitigations accordingly

  • Ability to communicate safety issues and mitigations with all levels of the organization, in both operational and executive formats

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with internal and external peers

  • Exceptional presentation skills, both oral and written, with ability to communicate in a way that informs and inspires

  • Detail orientated with an eye for accuracy and completeness of reporting

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint,, and JIRA

  • Driven, highly motivated and passionate about building a business

  • Strong intrinsic desire to succeed

  • Smart, Hungry and Humble

  • 30% travel is required


Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with FTA policies is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with USDOT / NHTSA is preferred

  • Familiarity with FDOT and transportation policies within the state of Florida

  • Experience in autonomous vehicles or automated drive systems
