Beep Shuttle Attendant/Ambassador - Orlando, Florida


Shuttle Attendants/Ambassadors will be our face to the community.  Your ultimate responsibility will be to ensure the safety of our riders but you will also be representing the business by sharing the history and future plans of the Lake Nona community as well as helping educate new riders on the autonomous platform. Candidates must enjoy public speaking and interacting with customers/riders. You will also be called upon to properly manage any potential customer issues that arise by maintaining a calm but authoritative posture if a situation arises. Autonomous shuttles operate +90% of the time in driverless mode but we implement additional safety procedures such as having our attendants authorize the entry into an intersections and other maneuvers so you must be comfortable with learning the technology and operations of the shuttles. These roles will offer tremendous potential for advancement as the skills gained by leading our customer experience and hands-on utilization the technology will open the door for advancement in our business. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate the vehicle and system interface with customers on board

  • Confidently represent Lake Nona and area businesses as a positive information source for the community

  • Communicate clearly and enthusiastically with autonomous vehicle passengers

  • Professionally handle possible conflicts with riders should the need arise

  • Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after driving to ensure the safety and protection of the asset

  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues

  • Shut down and start the vehicle onboard computer systems

  • Notify the maintenance department of any vehicles issues that need attention

  • Creating trouble tickets for issues as they arise; follow up to ensure issues are addressed and corrected

  • Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment

  • Ensure the readiness and cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and the workplace

  • Perform basic interior and exterior cleaning of the vehicle

  • Assist with paperwork and documentation related to vehicle readiness


Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong and comfortable oral communication skills in front of small groups

  • Familiarity with a joy-stick or video game controller is required

  • Multi passenger driving experience is a plus

  • Technical troubleshooting skills to determine causes of unexpected issues

  • Minimum 5 years valid driver’s license, with current FL driver’s license

  • Must have a clear driving record

  • Professional appearance and a great attitude is required

  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks

  • Must be a quick study and able to understand, and keep current on, operational requirements of the equipment.

  • Must enjoy a team player that enjoys interacting with customers and other team members 


Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively with other individuals

  • Must be able to maintain good relations with employees, supervisors and contractors

  • Must be in good physical condition to perform above job duties as outlined above. 

  • Must be able to visually inspect tools, vehicle, equipment, and/or machines.
